Den of Angels anyone?

Just wondering if anyone reading this is a member of Den Of Angels, the BJD forum. I joined about 6 months ago thinking it would be fab to have someone to chat to about my BJD passion (the cats just don't share my enthusiasm!) but I am finding it a very lonely experience to put it mildly. People just carry on chatting to each other around my comments and totally ignore my pathetic attempts to join in! It seems quite cliquey to me as an outsider, I have to say. Although every other comment seems to be someone saying how friendly it is on there :o(

Maybe I just don't fit in but if anyone here is a member and would like to befriend me I would be jolly grateful, I don't bite... much :o)

DOA is an online forum where people discuss and share pics of their BJD doll collections, there's also a market place that you can access after you make so many posts: http://www.denofangels.com/

I thought it would be fun but feel a bit out of place, really... maybe it's mostly kids, I don't know. Just a bit disappointed so far... mainly cos I can't think of anything to say... not like me!!

I'm a member, Pantogogue is my user name, feel free to PM me! I don't think its a matter of it being cliquey as it is just too huge! But I do know what you mean about the forums, people do tend to just ignore what other people say and just say their own thing rather than converse with the people around them.

Thanks Caro-chan, should I ever feel brave enough to go back there I will indeed PM you :o) I guess you are right about it being vast and just not connecting. I think I'll stick to subjecting my blog readers to my occasional ill educated waffle on the subject of BJDs!

They are so beautiful aren't they, Kaerie? I have just gotten my very first brand new, blank doll, a Luts Lishe from Korea, she's stunning. I'm too busy to do her face-up so she's just languishing in a box under my bed at the moment! Will post some pics once she has a face :o)

I'd like to see her before you doll her up (so to speak :O))
I don't get the BJD doll thing - are they all blank for dolling up?

Well, I commented on your later post first but ... I've been trying to join DoA for the same reason, to talk to someone about this new obsession I find myself having. I've ordered a Bobobie Mei but I REALLY want a Lishe ! Think I've convinced my husband to help me get her for Christmas ;)
I'd love to chat with you about BJDs as I don't know much, just what I've been able to get off the web. I've started following a bunch of people on Deviant Art but can't get into DoA - says registration is closed.
Ah well, I'll start following you here and hopefully we'll find a few others !

Stumbled on your post while googling DoA. Sadly, DoA is really bent more toward quick find and leave - a lot of young folks (which may well be you too) nattering in General talk threads. Most active groupings I've seen on web are at LiveJournal, Dollnews and Allbjdswelcomehere at Yahoo Groups. You'll find some folks eventually, so hang in there! Oh! and Lishe is divine! She was my first BJD and still my best loved. Good luck!

You should try some of the smaller UK BJD forums for general hanging out and chatting imo.

More of a community feel on there.

There is a list on DOA ^^ - would link but unable to get onto their site at the moment.

I'm on DoA, and I have to agree that sometimes comments just get ignored. It really depends on the thread though, some of them move so quickly that posts just get missed though not because no one cares, and some you have to keep commenting and posting pictures or whatever to get people to respond. I've found that the best threads for discussion are the specific doll threads. Post an intro thread if you haven't already, its a good way to get to know a few people, and meetups are great as well :)
